Les etiquetes dels productes cosmètics poden ser intimidants, tot seguit desgranem els components d'un cosmètic per ajudar-te a entendre per a què serveixen cadascun dels seus ingredients principals.
Abans de començar, hem de saber que a l'etiquetatge d'un producte cosmètic, la llista d'ingredients s'ordena per ordre decreixent de concentració, tenint en compte que els que es troben per sota de l'1% es poden esmentar en l'ordre desitjat.
La manera d'esmentar-los ve donada per l'INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients).
Els cosmètics es componen principalment de principis actius, excipients, additius i correctors.
Els principis actius són les substàncies principals del cosmètic. Són aquelles que actuen sobre un aspecte en concret que volem millorar: arrugues, taques, sequedat, etc.

Els principis més comuns que fem servir en la cosmètica d'elaborada a la nostra farmàcia són l'àcid hialurònic, àcid glicòlic, àloe vera, argan, Caviar, Cèl·lules mare, coenzim Q10, col·lagen, DMAE, eucaliptus, gingko biloba, onagra, or, sem lli, SPF, Resveratrol, retinol o vitamina A, Rosa mosquet, Raïm, Vitamina C.
EXCIPIENTS
Els excipients ajuden a elaborar el cosmètic, són el vehicle en què es col·loquen els actius donant-li la forma com es consumirà el producte final. Poden ser cremes, gels, escumes o pólvores, entre d'altres.
ADDITIUS I CORRECTORS
Additius i correctors són els conservants, colorants, perfums i estabilitzadors de la fórmula. S'encarreguen de millorar les característiques dels cosmètics.
- Els conservants eviten que es faci malbé el cosmètic per la contaminació produïda per bacteris, fongs i llevats.
